Simple Certificate activity plugin for Moodle provides the most simplest way to add a new certificate format without changing any code. The plugin is available for all Moodle versions since Moodle 2.2 onwards and is based on the original Certificate plugin created by Mark Nelson who has also developed another Certificate Plugin titled “Custom Certificate plugin“.
Matthew Nagy created a very nice video tutorial about adding and configuring a Simple Certificate activity in your Moodle course to provide the students a certificate after finishing the course.

You can download the Simple Certificate plugin for Moodle from the Moodle plugins database here. The best part about this plugin is that the certificate text are full customizable, using special text text that will be replaced by variables.
