It is not unusual, especially if you are a Moodlepreneur, to have students come to your course offerings from around the globe at any time of the day or night. For the most part, it is sufficient to have these students register with your system and then dive into the material.
However, sometimes is makes sense to place a bottleneck on registrations – maybe you have a time sensitive course, you’re rolling out delivery of materials for a client, or any other of 100 scenarios. In these cases, you want to know who is registering for the course and approve them manually.
Enter the Email-based self-registration with admin confirmation plugin. This plugin allows individuals to register for your course, but then sends an email to the main administrator’s address for approval. After the administrator reviews and approves, the student is given access to the course.
After the approval is given, the user is also notified automatically by email that access has been granted. This email can be customized within Moodle.
