Here’s a great script that you can add to the Body section (additional HTML, http://yourmoodle.com/admin/settings.php?section=additionalhtml) of your site which will add falling snow.
A fun/cool addition for the holidays. Commented code below provides the details on how to edit timing, number of flakes, colors and more. Enjoy!

How to add this snow fall script only to the front page and not all pages?
Sadly I do not know.
Thanks for the script. Didn’t use it on my moodle site.. but it looks great on my business web site..
If you put this script into a label on the front page, it will snow only on the front page.
I’ve used this one: http://www.schillmania.com/projects/snowstorm/ on our Moodle and I think it looks better than the one in this article. Also, I added it to a block so that it snows wherever the block shows up. The upside is that our students can just hide the block if they find the snow distracting and it will turn off.
